“Beef” with Pittsburgh
My “beef” with Pittsburgh isn’t really something anyone can control…Well mother nature could help a city out. Where is the sunshine? “Mr. Blue Sky please tell us why you had to hide away for so long…”
With more sunshine the city would be way more vibriant. Because of everyone’s winter time blues, the city just seems grey and blah. There’s no where to go unless you adore long walks in the frozen concrete jungle that is pittsburgh.
Which reminds me, sidebar, why does everything downtown close at baby o’clock? I understand that most of the business world leaves the urban city to return to their surburban country living, but everyone also knows that Pittsburgh is a college town, and Point Park and AIP are both located downtown, so what gives? Little shops and fast food restaurants would get so much business if they took advantage of the twenty-four usable hours in a day.
But getting back to my point, this town could really do with more “sunny days chasing the clouds away.” But how could that be modified? Maybe a chant to the sun God will bring a little light…but probably not really. So I guess we just need to come to terms with the English weather. Anyway, there’s always the night life…
