Smithfield News
White out. Nothing but blinding white. That was the scene outside my window after the weekend blizzard from about two weeks ago. The city was desolate except for a few Pittsburghers and some wild college students frolicking in the marshmellow puffs of snow.
The city was actually way more enjoyable what with barely any cars and fancy coated pedestrians. We were like children, having snowball, fights, sliding on the ice coated streets and sidewalk, my roommates and I even indulged in some cotton candy snow with jello packets we bought. (Cotton candy snow is snow mixed with jello packets.)
Since there were no stores open, there was only one place we could go…Smithfield News. This little enchanting corner store is so much more than a corner store to most of the people in this area. It’s like the messiah of all corner stores! It’s open twenty-four/seven. Rain, wind, and even blizzards!
Yeah it is just a silly little corner store to anyone looking from the outside. But inside there is so much more happening. Most of the employees are awesome, save for a few disgruntled nine to fivers. Everything is priced pretty fair, and there’s even a dolar aisle, where everything is priced at a dollar! So basically Smithfield News is the greatest corner store ever!
